Belgium Carnivores / Hotter than the Flaming Lips, smarter than BRNS / Math-Glam-Synth-Pop, but better
Nicht selten liegt die Schönheit im Chaos. Und am schönsten unaufgeräumt sind an dieser Kilbi die Belgier: Mit ihrer Mischung aus MGMT, Flaming Lips und Alt-J wirkt der psychedelisch angehauchte Synth-Pop der fünfköpfigen Senkrechtstarter Robbing Millions wie ein Trip zwischen Wahnsinn und Ekstase. Ja, ein wahnsinnig guter Trip eben. Das gute an diesem Rausch: Es gibt kein hartes Erwachen, keinen Kater danach. Denn die energiegeladenen Shows von Robbing Millions pumpen das Publikum dermassen voll mit Endorphinen, dass das Hoch für eine kleine Ewigkeit anhält. Am Ende werden wir uns in Düdingen eingestehen müssen, dass die bessere Schokolade halt doch aus Belgien kommt. Oder wie sonst schaffen es diese fünf jungen Musiker, solche Glücksgefühle in uns zu entfachen? Wie Manneken Pis schon gesagt hat: Je süsser das Chaos, desto schöner sein Abgang. A-men!
Il n’est pas rare que la beauté règne dans le chaos. Les Belges arrivent cette année dans un éblouissant désordre au Kilbi: en combinant un peu de MGMT, Flaming Lips et Alt-J, la synthpop du vertigineux quintet fait l’effet d’un trip entre folie et extase. De fait, un très très bon trip. Et le meilleur dans cette ivresse, c’est que le réveil est plaisant, aucune gueule de bois. Les performances euphorisantes de Robbing Millions abreuvent le public d’endorphine, public qui se sent ainsi flotter pour une petite éternité. Et à Guin, on finit par se souvenir que le meilleur chocolat du monde vient de Belgique. Parfaitement. Sinon comment expliquer que ces cinq jeunes musiciens avivent en nous un tel sentiment de bonheur? Le Manneken Pis l’a déjà dit: plus le chaos est doux, meilleur il est d’en sortir. A-men!
Often beauty lies within chaos. The creators of the most beautiful chaos at this year’s Kilbi are from Belgium: Their music is somewhere between MGMT, the Flaming Lips and Alt-J with a hint of psychedelic synth-pop. The music of the five high-flyers from Robbing Millions, is like a trip between madness and rapture. Yep, exactly like an incredible trip. The energy fuelled shows by Robbing Millions pump so many endorphins into the audience, the high lasts for a small eternity. If there ever is a time for the Swiss to admit that the better chocolate comes from Belgium, that time has come now. Or how else are these five young musicians capable of arousing such a blissful sensation? Just like Manneken Pis once said: The sweeter the chaos, the more beautiful its dismount. A-men!
