Installation

Zwei Körper hängen reglos an einem Baum. Sie knirschen und quietschen im Wind. Leise drehen sie sich. Freuen sie sich über das Leben oder sind sie des Todes geweiht? Sie hängen still und sind ganz im Moment. Sie transportieren die bewegungen von Wind und Wetter. Ihr Gesang ist der Gesang der Leere. Der Baum und die Körper schaffen einen Raum der Ruhe, einen Raum der Wiedersprüche, Statik trifft auf Bewegung, einen Raum gefüllt mit Schmerz und Schönheit.
Die Installation «Singing Tree» von Musiker und A Tree in a Field Records Labelbetreiber Marlon McNeill dauert drei Tage. Sie ist als Fortsetzung der interaktiven Performance „Seven“ zu verstehen, die bisher unter anderem am Swiss Psych Fest 2013 und im Rahmen der ART Basel 2015 aufgeführt wurde.
Deux corps inertes sont pendus à un arbre. Ils grincent bercés par le vent. Ils tournillent lentement. Sont-ils encore vivant ou bien voués à une mort certaine? Ils restent suspendus en pleine conscience du moment. Ils transposent les mouvements du vent et de la nature. Leur chant est un cantique du vide. L’arbre et les corps forment un espace de silence, un espace de contradiction. L’immobile se heurte au mouvement. Un espace rempli de douleur et de beauté.
L’installation <<Singing Tree>> de Marlon McNeill, musicien et chef du label <<A Tree in a Field Records>>, s’étend sur une durée de trois jours. Elle est la continuation de la performance interactive <<Seven>>, qui a été présentée entre autres au Swiss Psych Fest 2013 et dans le cadre de l’ART Basel en 2015. Two bodies hanging motionless on a tree . they are grinding and creaking in the wind . They rotate quitly. Are they excited about being alive or are they dedicated to the death ? They hang in silence, but in moment. They transport the movements of wind and weather . Their chanting is the song of emptiness . The tree and the body create an area of peace , a space of contradictions , static movement , a space filled with pain and beauty. McNeill takes three days. It should be seen as a continuation of the interactive performance "Seven", which has been listed among others the Swiss Psych Festival 2013, during the Art Basel, 2015.
