Vanligt Folk

The Talking Heads stick their heads up from the grave and silently look around to see who is distorting their legacy in such an absurd way, putting the bush drums in the spotlight and communicating in a North European language sounding even more exotic to Swiss German and French speaking ears than Senslerdeutsch (the Swiss German dialect spoken in the Kilbi area) does to everyone else. Yet the Swedes of Vanligt Folk are ordinary people, at least according to the translation of the band name. That ordinariness, our audience will be pleased to hear, is not reflected in the trio’s music, which defies normality in its often-exhausting interpretation of body dance.
