Kamaal Williams

There is no Kamaal Williams. However, Henry Williams exists twice: once as Henry Wu, and again as Yussef Kamaal. In order to avoid any more confusion – Kamaal Williams create enough on stage anyway – we can at least find some common ground: London. Who still knows Gilles Peterson’s Talkin Loud label, which gave new impulses to electronic music in the 90’s, led acid jazz into more liberated spheres, pushed intellectual sounds with urban vibes and installed soothing sound forms? THAT’s where the Londoner Kamaal Williams belongs, to that London label, and 30 years later also to the 30th edition of Bad Bonn Kilbi.
