Black Midi, Black Country, New Road and Squid have one thing in common: they’re all part of the pulsating scene around Dan Carey’s record studio and label «Speedy Wunderground» in London. And they all aim for experimentation when it comes to rock music. The five-piece band Squid from Brighton weaves cornet, cello and synthesizer into their post punk, inspired by disco funk, meandering through drones and delays and furious guitar riffs. With their pressing live shows the band around the singer and drummer Ollie Judge is getting more and more recognition.
