The Indonesian duo Gabber Modus Operandi is much more than the sum of its parts, mixing gabber (hardcore techno up to 180 beats per minute), footwork, grind core and noise music with Indonesian cultural traditions such as Jathilan (a kind of ritual trance dance), Dangdut Koplo (a form of Javanese pop folklore) and Balinese Gamelan sounds. Add a huge dose of madness, craziness, digital hyper-activism and rebellion against religious conservatism in their home country. A live firework, as if Atari Teenage Riot had been diagnosed with ADHD.
