When Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith wires up her modular synthesizer it sounds so mysterious that it could be wales singing. Or like the sound of softly pulsating waves breaking on the shores on a beautiful summers day. Since she grew up on Orcas Island northwest of Washington State her music has been inspired by the magic sounds of her surroundings and the underwater world. Smith who studied sound-technology was then introduced to the Buchla-100 synthesizer through a neighbour, hypnotized by this device she then started to create her own universe of sounds.
