Die Vergleiche, welche die Band von der (Mainstream-)Presse über sich ergehen lassen muss, sind sowas von für die Füchse: Hätten die Strokes et al. dermassen Arsch gekickt und wären gleichzeitig so überaus smart gewesen, ja dann, hm, hätt' ich sie vielleicht auch lieber gehabt. Parquet Courts jedenfalls können fast alles. Rock, Indie, Garage, Poesie, Noise, (Post)Punk, Liedermacher. Und sind dabei immer authentisch und DIY. On se réjouit d'autant plus qu'ils viendront à la Kilbi nous combler avec un nouvel album. En avant sur la piste ! The Parquet Courts from Brooklyn fuse Indie and Post Punk in such a refreshing way, they have reached listeners whose genre preferabilities go way beyond. The comparisons made by the (mainstream) press are rather useless: If the Strokes had kicked ass in such a way and had been exceedingly smart at the same time, mhmm, yeah, then maybe I would have liked them better, too. Anyhow, Parquet Courts can do almost everything: Rock, Indie, Garage, Poetry, Noise, (Post) Punk, singer-songwriter. And they’re always authentic and DIY. They even grace the Kilbi with a new album, so we’re more than exhilarated about their appearance. It’s show time!
