Wenn Cate Le Bon in der Ankündigung zu ihrem neuen Album „Crab Day“ schreibt, ihre Musik sei „in the mouth of the Pacific Ocean“ entstanden, dann kauft man ihr das sofort ab. Gut möglich, spricht sie vom Golf von Kalifornien, denken wir nur an ihr Faible für psychedelisch klingende Luftschlösser. Und vermutlich hat sie sich dabei selber in die Fluten gestürzt. Cate Le Bon kann und macht also so ziemlich alles. Ihre Musik ist zeitlos, weiss aber um ihre Vergangenheit. Sie klingt sowohl nahe als auch weit entfernt.
