Lala is the name of a French-Ivorian rapper called Mélanie, who is far less shy than she first appears. When she sings about love and sex, she unearths today's world between the lines, with angelic tongues and in a nonchalant style. Honest lyrics without filters and soft-focus, dealing with feelings and identity. Lala consists of what she offers us to see and hear. Almost unnoticed, she deconstructs gender stereotypes and works on a future in which individuality becomes the norm. Welding beads of hope in which one easily melts. But gradually these omens mutate.
